In this article, you will learn how to manually enter data for budgets and actuals. We also have introduced a notification system that lets you know which values have been manually changed.
ProfitSee is set up to automatically sync in all budgeted and actual data from your cloud accounting software. In certain cases, you may want to enter or edit the synced in information whether it be the budget or actuals. For this reason, we have included a flag or prompt, which lets you know which values have been manually changed from the data provider.
1. To manually edit line item values for the budget or actuals, go to the Data Entry tab and select Actual Data Entry or Budget Data Entry depending on the type of data you wish to overwrite.
2. Once you have manually overwritten a cell's value, you will notice an orange flag in the top right-hand corner of the cell.
3. To ensure these manual data entries are locked in and saved for the next time you log into ProfitSee, head to the Manage tab and locate the sync setting near the top of the screen.
4. Select the options accordingly so that financial, budget, or both data entries will not be overwritten. If you would like to start anew and pull in what is in your accounting software, select ONLY the 'Nightly Sync' option.
